A referendum on independence took place; Golf’s Ryder Cup was contested at Gleneagles; The Commonwealth Games came to Glasgow and it sees the first rays of light being shed on Retina, Scotland’s International Festival of Photography. And, all were great successes.
We worked in conjunction with the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival and were proud to present our vision to give Scotland its first annual festival of photography.
The official festival launch took place in the ballroom at the Assembly Rooms on George Street with Rankin’s “Portraits of Men” alongside Rika and Helena Christensen’s, “a Private Moment – before moving on to Harvey Nichols with “The Emerging Photographic Talent” exhibition, and the City Chambers where ‘The UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards 2013” was shown. Alongside the main festival, an exhibition of the work of student talent titled “New Fashion Photographers” ran at the Creative Exchange in Leith.
